Water pump issues.

I have a 85 F150 with a EFI 5.0L. I had the truck for about 3 months then I heard the dredding waterpump "bearing rattling". So, I left it for a couple months then finally replaced the water pump with a NEW one. Started it up and it was nice and quiet. No noise. For about 1.5 months. Then the problem came back.

It usually only makes noise when the truck is first started (and usually cold out). I KNOW it is the waterpump. Should I be concerned? Can I leave it or should I rip it out and get a new one? Thanks.

If you replaced it with a new pump and the waranty is still good, replace it. a lot of the pumps you get now are rebuilt pumps and I've seen them bad right out of the box. Nothing tics me off more than to waste my time installing a part and it turns out to be bad and have to do it all over again.

Considering the fact that if it finally lets go when you are at cruising speed you might loose the radiator, I'd fix it now. Good luck.
