Radiator sizes......
I have a '86 F250 Supercab, Superduty with 460 with C-6 and A/C. I seems to have a slow overheat on very long pulls with the 13'10" camper on board. I am told by the local parts guy that the '80 thru '95 trucks with a 460 all used the same radiator. My manual say the '80 thru '82 trucks had 24 quart cooling system and the '83 and '84 had 18 quarts and 86 thru '88 had 24 quarts again. So where'd the 6 quarts go in '83 and '84 if not a smaller radiator? I doubt the block got shrunk. My radiator is 2 1/4" thick has 3 cores and he says that's the large radiator. So is it? If not where did the 6 quarts go? I can get a 4 core after market, but I would really like to know the truth about this. Thanks for any input.
