How do you determine that your truck is ready for a long trip? what do you check? D AVE

Depends on how long the trip was.....

First & foremost is a complete tune-up

Brakes

tires & pressure

make sure all fluids are toped off and acceptaple

Change the oil, make sure the transmission is in good condition, check the alignment - 2,000 miles with it off can ruin a tire. do a visual check of the engine compartment, for damage to equipment, belts and hoses. Check the seats, seatbelts, and window controls. Get your first aid kit together, your spare bulbs and bits, and have a good trip.
