I have two 97 Volvo 850 Turbos. They are so very easy to flush the tranny. Just dissconnect the line to the cooler, put a 3' length of clear tubing on the outie, put it in a container, start the engine, let 2 - 3 qt run out, ( as soon as I see bubbles in the line I shut off) add 2 -3 qts and keep doing this until it runs dead clear red. Takes about 14 - 15 qts. . Does this work on a Explorer tranny? The one thing that is different is that there is no filter in the Volvo. I do every year since I have them both. Costs about $30-34 per car to do this. Can this be done on an Explorer? Thanks for any input.
Remember the "Volkswagens never change" TV commercial? There are also great differences in Explorers. By this number of posts you should have edited your profile to include at a minimum the year and engine of your vehicle in your signature. It is inconsiderate to force others to ask for this information. From the information you posted, this question can not be answered.

Wow! Having a bad day???
Sure it can be answered...but perhaps not with the highest possible degree of accuracy
I was asking for a friend. I have a manual. If it was too inconsiderate, just have me removed. I guess I'm confused as the 'Force' issue, but again....There must be a moderator.

GM,
Don't sweat it guy...some folks just get cranked up a little easier than others.
I've even noticed some who seem to lurk, just waiting to pounce...
It's not worth worrying about.
I wish I could tell you specifically that what you're suggesting will work - I believe it will (regardless of the year/make/engine, etc.) but I would suggest pm'ing ether Homer or Racerguy - both are VERY knowledgeable with years of experience and can steer you in the right direction, if you don't want to do a query on the subject.
Regards,
Scott

Thanks for the feedback. I (we) had a week that I don't want to do again. Three chemo treatments for her. However, they are the last, and the news is good. She does appreciate getting up in the mountains.. Things will get better.
I was noticing the diffs in Euro amd Amer cars as far as maint goes. I can change the front rotors and break pads OEM, very easy, for about $100. However Euro cars seem to be far more maint intensive. This old 92 XL is the first Amer car I have owned since 1987... Just noting some diffs, not complaining. I'm just not used to the Explorer yet. And I am fairly **** and want evrything working properly.
