You can build and price the 05 F150 with a V6. Can only be had with reg cab and the 5speed is a late available option. I am interested in the 5speed and Supercab, to bad that does not look to be available yet or ever again.

I know for the 04's that the v6 is still available in the heritage, but not the new style. The new style is alot heavier than the old style, (full tubular frame, taller bed, longer cab, etc) so the 6 may not be a good option. I'M NOT SAYING THE V6 IS WEAK. I own one, and am very happy with it.
The V6 is not weak at all, it holds it's ground in the F-150 real well. There are just certain parts of my truck I'm not completely sound, mainly the sound of my exhaust-but it's a sixer so I'm going to have to face it. Other than that I absolutely love my Ford. I'll get to do my oil change this weekend or next and am lookin forward to pamperin my baby up
So does anyone know if the V6 will be in the new body style for '05 or not? I know I can probably find it on the web some where but I'm too lazy to look around at the time..
the heritage was basically an 03 left over stock that they put a "heritage" logo on and called it an 04
Homer, if read my last post on this board, I believe that I mentioned that I really like my V6. Considering that with just a few little mods like exhaust you can easily get more power out of it than the 4.6. My point was that with a heavier constant load, the engine and tranny will tend to wear out quicker. Ford probably wants to try to keep a reputation of quality considering that they are the only one of the 'BIG 3' that produce a quality vehicle.
From the info seen here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/2005/2005_f150_1.html
It looks like the 4.2 will be offered in the 05 (New body style) in regular cab only.
Notice the drop in towing capacity due to the heavier truck cutting into the max CGWR.
I like my 4.2, but don't think I'd buy an '05 with one.
good point, all i'm saying is that i wouldn't put it past ford or other sales reps to change the stickers or badges. Regardless of what the actual truth is, its still a good truck.
