Door Ajar light stuck
The dome light and the warning light on my dash that says "door ajar"- is on constantly and I have made sure over and over and over and over that all the doors are secure. I would assume that I have an electriucl snafu somewhere.
Any suggestions at where I should start ?????

I know the back gate on my Mountaineer is very tempermental and I have to slam it a couple of time occasionally. I would say you probably have a bad switch. Are the interior lights staying on as well?

Have an 02 that had the same problem and for that year the door switch is in the latch. I assumed it was the drivers door and was given the following advice. Spray the latch and as much inside it as you can real good with WD-40. I did that opened and closed the door several times, resprayed a couple times and have not had the problem since. Sounds like a off the wall fix but it sure worked for me. I was told dust and dirt get in the latch and make the switch stick. Good luck.
