01 explorer help
hello all, recently picked up an 01 exlorer 4.0 push rod engine, wont start, when i try to start it, sputters kinda like it's trying to start but doesnt, if i hold my foot on the floor it will run for a few seconds but real rough, smells real bad, strong gas odor, I am thinkin possible timing chain?? but wanted some advice chain, or could there be some other simpler solution any sensors that could do this or something. I bought the vehical not running so I dont really know what happened to it. any help would be greatly apreciated thanx in advance
