carb vacuum problem

hi guys,
I've figured out why my rebuild wasn't working: with the vacuum line hooked up from the base of the carb to the timing advance, the engine would choke out at mid throttle, but when i disconnect it (and don't plug it) it runs fine. Is there another air passage on the carb that might be blocked?

Vacuum advance line goes to carb never manifold unless there is a switch in between. Usually the ported vacuum fitting is on ths right(passenger) side of carb.
