Grind rust or neutralize
I am preparing my '72 F-100 to repaint the bottom half of the body. It has the original paint and there was surface rust at the bottom edges. I have sanded the paint away and wire brushed the rust areas and painted on RUSTMORT. Now these areas have turned black and supposedly the rust is neutralized. Can I now prime over them? Should I paint them with Rustoleum?
I was wanting to avoid grinding the rusty areas down to shiny metal because that would mean taking away alot of the surrounding metal.
Any ideas?

fordxxx,make sure you read on the can becouse some of those rust converters say to just knock off the loose rust,becouse it needs some rust to activate the product. I'm not trying to be a wiseguy, but i made that mistake and sanded it to bare metal and the converter had nothing to convert..lol
