Ford vs. Chevy

Not to say the C word, because it offends myself and others. I was just wondering if the Ford dual belt water pump pulley is the same as the C word dual pulley for the long style SBC? I noticed my pulley lines up with the alternator on my FORD 289, but it looks like someone drilled out the holes for the fan bolts? I had a 3 belt pulley from a mustang which I tried to put on and the belts didn't even line up. I'm wondering if the pulley I have is a C word pulley? Anybody no the difference and are they the same depth and size other than the hole pattern? I know the billet and chrome pulley are much cheaper than the Ford ones.( not that I want C word parts on my truck of course).

For crying out loud man, just say the word, no one will die. its CHEVY.
Why all the bull over such a funky little name?? Its just a name. You need not love them. We don't mind using GM parts like Camaro clips, seats, pumps, bumpers, brake systems, even beds, columns and even switches,Chrysler pumps ,Volare clips, etc, etc, and who knows what else and not feel bad about it. There are even a lot of threads on such matters. Even Niolon uses a Chevy seat because it works for him. He's just one more guy that Loves his FORD and that is what matters. We just won't discuss puttin a C***Y engine in a FORD truck, because that is a site rule. I too love my FORD and toss a lot of money at it. I just replaced the P/S pump on my 460 and guess what ...... the pump came from the same place as the Ford pump and fits in the ford bracket. The Chevy guys love our 9" Ford and they are proud to use them with out the "F" word. . The "C" word?????????????? Get past it man. PS: I really like your truck. E.L.

El cabron, Relax buddy, I'm not slamming Chevy. It's just a game people play. I'm just playing around. I actually like Chevy's. I'd love to own a 69 z28. I've always had Fords and love Fords. In fact, I really doubt that my truck is totally all Ford, I think the column is a Chevy or Buick or ???????????. I read a post, I think it was with Red Jag, they were avoiding saying the Chevy word. So I went along with. It's one of those love hate rivalry relationships LOL... It wasn't intended to be mean or anything. I apologize if it was. I do know I will never put a Chevy engine in my Ford, because I prefer Ford engines, nor would I put a Ford 302 in a Camaro or 57 Bel air. (sound stupid huh?). So, back to my original question. Do I have a Chevy water pump pulley on my Ford? LOL..... Gotta love you guys. By the way, I love your truck also. Ed

Relaxing is good. It's all good Ed. I just thought that I would hijack your thread to expess a thought in general. Although, as I am sure you noticed, nobody replies to the threads when one speaks or thinks Chevy. This sorta tells a story does it not?
I too have a strong love for all USA made cars. I have a new F150XLT,A 1983 E350 with 460/C6-750 Holly DP,3/4 Cam/ Borla, 1950 Belair,2004 VUE,93 SC2 Coupe,50 Stude,55 Nashty,52 Ford S/D Courier,63 Implala S/S,65 Lincoln Conv. and await my 2005 Mustang to arrive. I don't do rice though.
Still can't help with orig question, but perhaps I can measure something from 1 of my rides..

Sounds like you have a great collection of cars. I do have to admit, that 2005 Mustang is sweet. Let me know if you find anything out on that pulley. Thanks.

Will be going to the storage barn on Monday where I have a 351W and a 289 with stock pulleys and compare to a stock pulley that is at my workshop. I can provide with O.D., and approx depth as I won't remove parts from finished cars. Have you been to a recycle yard that has these parts for comparison??
PS: Have you noticed the number of reads on this thread and yet no response? That is the reason behind my first response. Maybe it was the way it is titled. Ehhhh who cares.............. Some folks have tunnel vision or perhaps...........

I've been to a few swap meets and seen the pulleys. The chevy pulley which is long? I believe looks just like the ford one. Can't tell the difference. Haven't measure the OD on them. Some people say they seem the same? I'm not sure about the posts. I know a lot of people always view the posts but seldom respond to them. I'm pretty sure its my good looks that scares them off!
