I've got a '97 Mountaineer with the JBL Premium sound system. About a month and a half ago, I was listening to a CD on the way to school, and after a while realized that the bass wasn't working. When I turned it back on after school, it worked for 5 seconds, then stopped, and hasn't worked since. Any ideas as to why this happened? I've already checked fuses, and everything was fine there.
Also, do most head units work with the 6-disc changer that comes with the 97 explorer/mountaineer?
you could have a loose connection to the remote wire on the back of head unit. It is a blue wire and if it looses connection your amp won't work all you have to do is pop out the head unit and make sure it is connected properly. Most likely will be only blue wire.
