Nobody else has done this modification? I think my passenger side manifold is cracked and since it will need replaced I might as well upgrade to headers.
Im pretty sure Gibson makes a nice set. i was on the phone with tehm figuring out which i needed and i remember them asking me if i had a 4.6 or 5.4....
I don't have any experience with modular engine headers personally, but i had to take my PS exhaust manifold off to replace 2 broken exhaust studs. I had my buddy who's a mechanical engineer sand blast it for me and he said "look how they make these things now, I saw a show on how they use fluid dynamics to engineer them for best flow". Its up to you but considering how much of a pain it was to take 1 side off mine, the money, and the fact that you probably won't find any felt performance gain on a stock motor, you may just want to stick with the factory set up. Just my $.02
anyone else offer anything? also, are the Mustang 4.6 headers usable? im unsure if the exhaust flanges are the same for the mustang version 4.6 and the expy version 4.6.
if anyone can confirm that the truck 4.6 is the same as the Mustang GT 4.6, then its entirely possible that the mustang headers could be used on the Expy, provided there is enough room in the engine bay.
