Well, it was bad enough that the oldest son bought a Honda Accord as a first car 5 years ago. I was able to deal with the shame. But now son #2 just bought......a Honda!
I don't know if I can show my face in the neighborhood any longer.... The neighbors are beginning to talk, ya know what I mean?
And to think, I had such high hopes for these guys. At least my 11 year old daughter kknows right from wrong. She wants a Mustang convertible when she starts to drive.
I'm just messin' around. My guys are the best. Just have different tastes than the "old man"!
When I told my old man that I was looking at a Nissan, he stumbled over his words and goes, "well, at least it's getting better mileage than your Bronco." I was heartbroken...the man who taught me how to count to 8 before anything else except for the letter V...taught me that vehicle weight was the way to go (Bronco, '70 Monte) was ok with me buying a car with a half an engine and drive wheels on the wrong end...I gave him a piece of my mind. He's getting better though, the other day we were talking about the 500hp merc benz's, and he asked me what the heck I was going to do with 500 hp? My jaw dropped and I gave him a look...he smirked back, keeping me on my toes...we both know what we'd do with 500hp. God bless em.
i would love to have a ford for my first truck, but i just dont have the money. besides, my dad has 2 cars he might sell me, a jeep cherokee 2wd, or a dodge caravan, and he says that if i buy one of them, i would be getting a better deal than if i bought a car from a dealer(okay, i believe it) or from a private party.

Well the Accord is lowered with some nice rims. Kid got smart and removed the garbage can muffler and replaced it with something that actully growls! He also replaced the original engine with a V-Tec. Did a real good job on it. Car actually looks nice.
The younger one just bought a Del Sol with a V-Tec. He actually doesn't get his license until Feb. 05. So he has a while to make his changes.
I told both of them if they had any cajones they would stuff the new Cammer engine fron FRP into those cars! Then they would be making a real statement.....
LMAO!! Now, I have owned a 67 mustang for sooo long, that neither one of my kids will EVER buy anything other than a Ford. I mean, while on the way to the track, the thing jumped time, bent 5 valves, and who knows how many of the pushrods were bent, and the darn thing STILL made it home! After that, I have hammered it into my kid's heads that while a Honda may get better mileage, the Ford WILL make it home...NO MATTER WHAT. Now, My daughter gets the 67 when she graduates(but gets to drive it with HER engine while in highschool), and my son gets the 53 Ford F-250 when he graduates. Fortunatly for me, that isnt for another 10 years. So I get a few more years to play with it. They will eventually come around, so dont loose heart....and keep pounding it into their heads. Also, just in our house, the rules are simple...you come home with a girlfriend or boyfriend with a chevy, you either dump em or your outta the family!
