I am probably in the" you should be shot for owning category, " but, I own three Homelites and they have been nothing but great. I am not saying they are the best either. I got them new for less than $50 a piece off of EBAY. I don't baby them and they keep on running. So I feel they are great. If I was going to spend money it would be husky or stihl I suppose. I feel I got a "Steal" the way it is. I suppose I will find out when they do break down because I think they were bought out by John Deere. the way I figured it , I paid about the price of a bar and chain for them I feel it was worth the money.

I bought a used Homelite XL925 from a tree company I worked for back in 1979. I've used it every year since and only had to replace the ignition. I've had other saws during that time but I always held on to old faithful. It doesn't have the anti vibration handle mounts that new saws have and my hands were not dealing with that well so this summer I bought a Stihl 044 for regular use. The old Homelite still has more pulling power though. I'll keep it around for the really knarley stuff.
