Need help here guys,
I have a 66 f-100 swb "Styleside" with a 6 cyl. and 3-spd on the floor. I want to install a v-8 but am not sure which way to go. I have three motors in my garage. A 351w, 302 and a 5.0 HO. Which one? I personally think the 5.0 is going to be more involved than my budget allowes and I dont like the idea of having to use a computer. Any suggestions???

Robert, What a problem to have. We don't know how you plan to use your truck, but can't beat cubic inches in a truck. I understand budgets as well, if you feel all three motors are about the same as far a wear goes, the W would be the choice for the truck. Other than a few internal power differences everything is pretty much the same as far as install goes.
Thanks for the input. My plans are for a mild customization with a V-8, power disk brakes, power steering, gear change (?) & custom interior. As you can see I'm going to need a lot of help such as "What Parts"? and "How To"? Any and all help will be appreciated.
This is also going to be a family project with my 60 year old dad and my two sons ( 12 & 8 ). WISH ME LUCK with the PATIENCE!!
I would go with the 351W, nice torqy small block. efi it with the 5.0 stuff while your at it, just need a different intake. The motor mounts will be the same for all three. what tranny are you going to use? Any will make a nice package.
Use the 351W. This way you can use the cheap SUMMIT Brand headers for the 70's f150 with a 302 they will fit better with the 351 do to the taller deck height they don't fit the 302 well at all but hey there only $75 at that cost you can replace them every five years four times and still come out a head.
