Post 85 BII A4LD

I recently bought an 85 BII with the 2.8 and A4LD the thing leaked like a sieve around the tranny pan and seemed to slip a bit. I checked the fluid, changed it and the filter and drove it a bit. My problem is, it does not move if I shift into OD to start, if I go right into Drive it runs fine shifts well and goes thru the gears like it should, except in OD it slips. I called my local tranny shop to get the specs. for the band adjustments, their info. was, back off the locknut a few turns, tighten the bolt to 72 in.lbs. and back off the bolt 3/4 of a turn and tighten the locknut. This makes it shift with authority but still no OD ? Did I miss something ? I adjusted both the adjusting bolts on the side of the tranny in this manner, do they need different adjustments? The tranny shop did not specify that they were different. Thanks in advance for any help.
