Where's the enging block #

Apparently the international dealer needs to know the engine block number to find my part. Where is the engine block number located on a '96 PSD?

Thanks for the help.

Look at the left (driver's) side of the block just above the oil pan rail. I believe that will help you out.

My number is on the block right above the oil filter. Hope that helps.

wsdetailing makes a valid and important point: I have seen some of the blocks with the casting number on the passenger's side as well. Just this week, I have also seen two 4.0 blocks: one with the casting number on the left and one on the right.

I do apologize for not mentioning that in my post--especially since the PSD block is an IH product and it will not necessarily be as most Ford castings are marked.
Even so, I have, as I wrote, seen two Ford castings with the casting numbers in different locations.

It should also be on a sticker on the high pressure oil reservoir, a block looking thing front of the engine on top, just behind the fan blades about 10" wide and 2" front to back with a sensor on the passenger end of the top.

Yep, it's there as well and you don't have to crawl under the truck to write it down.
