Hey, I was wondering, How many of you guys/gals go take yoyr truck SUV and play in the mud? Yeah, you know your out there, you don't just have super-swampers and BFG mud terrains for nothing.
I myself just took my '78 F-250 out in the slop yesterday. And man was it slop . I had those 33" Thornbirds really spinnin', left some 10' deep tracks. The water is the most fun, when you have to turn the windsheid wipers on.
It felt good let the old girl flex 'er muscles, and I had the time of my life. VERY exhilerating!
The only part that I don't like is the time it takes to get my truck all cleaned up again, but oh well, time well spent, right.
So if anyone's got any wild stories, or just want to tell what modivates your truck / SUV thru the mud, drop a line, I'd love to hear 'em!

I used to take my 78 F-150 out muddin' and 4 wheelin'. It's goin into resto right now and I don't know if I am going to wheel it after that. Maybe trail riding or rock crawling, I just don't know about the mud. I have still got mud on that thing from 2 years ago that hasn't come completely off after several washes. Right now I have a 2002 Polaris sportsman I use for my off road purposes. That thing will go through anything. The only time i've got it stuck was from high centering it on a pile of hard dirt.
i love goin muddin/wheelin. i go just about every weekend and enjoy every moment of it, even when i have to do a trail fix right in the mud. once i get my new engine, solid front, and 1tons all around my trucks gonna be unstoppable.
Yeah, once I get my truck how I want it I probably want do so much hardcore off-roading with it - I might even get another truck just for hardcore off-roading.
I want to get a locker for the rear of my truck. I think lockers offer the best gain in traction. The paint job isn't the greatest so I really don't have to worry. It was white early yesterday, and late yesterday it was pure brown. I even had a neighbor call and ask me if I painted the truck!
Keep the posts comin' I'm havin' fun on a rainy day for once!

MUD what is that ??? Down here in Arizona we don't get enough rain to make mud most of you guys get more rain in one day than we get in one year total. But the times we do have that rare commodity called MUD and you can find it yes I am there. People in AZ seem to wear MUD on there trucks as a badge of honor and don't wash their trucks for about a month. Because you never know when you might find it again so enjoy it till the next time. We do get alot of those Arizona pin stripes thou ( good ole cactus pin stripes)
i use my 75 f-100 described below to go muddin on the tank trails on the marine corps base where i live. we go out at least once a month and always have a blast my buddy has a mean 69 bronco running dana 60s front and rear and we go out and tear up the trails. man some of those tank traps are deep. i have had my truck in several feet of mud/water. and yes even in the cab lol. it doesnt bug me a bit to go out and break something. i see it as finding the weak spot in the truck. so when i break something i just fix it when i get the money or fix it with a bigger stronger part. then go out again and have fun and get dirty. my 75 is my muddin toy thats all i bought it for. next time we go out i will take lots of pics and post them so yall can see.
