Electric Fan Question
you didn't say pusher or puller, but I'm assuming since you mentioned shroud it's a pulller. That (from what the experts tell me) is the best way. Mount your a/c condenser in front and pull the air thru both. at highway speed you don't need any fan and the speed will push the air through the entire core.. in some cases a shroud could actually hurt you.
I just ordered a PRC aluminum job http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Products/159/ downflow.. 1 inch dual tubes 2-3/8" core 14 fins per square inch ..Air director fin covers with a/c condenser in front and a 16" Spall pull fan in rear...I don't plan on a shroud and Dick all but guaranteed me I'd never have any cooling problems...
Are you driving the truck yet ??? I think before I spent a pile or reengineered the wheel I'd see what it does in traffic in your roasting 70° summers in those high latitudes.. I can't imagine if you have good flow thru the core that you 'd have a problem with the 16" pulling thru the core...
you mentioned the 'easy' way of mounting ??? haven't we taught you better than taking the 'easy' way... come on boy... spend some time fabbing up some really cool... hard to make... expensive one off brackets... you embarrass me son... taking the easy route
I sure hope 'fenders doesn't hear this... he'll be soooo disappointed in ya...later
John
(too cool to take the easy way...no matter how many times I do it over...)
