I would test the EVP (EGR valve position sensor) to see what the voltage is. If you have a Haynes manual, the test procedure is in there. The code could be caused by a faulty EVP, faulty wiring, a stuck open EGR valve, or a vacuum leak through the EVR solonoid.

Thanks for the reply. I should have included the following information. Its a 91 F150 351W and I've replaced the egr & egr sensor. I had some egr codes but not anymore. Just this EVP code 34. I'll do some more testing and get back.
