I curently live and work 20-25 miles from it; should be exciting. Strange, we were just talking during lunch at work a couple of weeks ago about St. Helens and the big mess it made here--sky going black and all. I was living in Seattle during the '80 eruptions and we only got a slight dusting. Supposedly, the little we got there was actually from what had allready traveled around the earth.
I was in grade 1 when the volcano blew. Our teacher used to lose her cool a lot. IIRC, the first time she lost it after the eruption, someone called her Mt St. Morin. (Her name was Mrs. Morin.)
Best I can give you is the VolcanoCam http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/ , but it appears that the site is down right now (probably from too many people viewing it). None of the major news outlets websites seem to have anything on it yet.
We are getting a ton of calls at my work right now from the homeowners associations we manage, saying that their power is out. They're in cities like Milpitas, Cupertino, etc... in the southern bay area.... Mt. St. Helens is a ways away, and it's affecting people around here!
