Power Steering Question

i have a 2004 6L x with about 2200 miles. i was going to pull a u-turn today and decided to crank the wheel before the light turned. after about 1/4 turn the steering wheel almost locked up. the light turned and i released the brakes, as the truck began to roll, steering effort returned to normal. i also tested it with the truck in park. no problems. it seems that i have no boost with the brakes on. other than that condition everything seems to be fine. has anyone else noticed this?

Kinda normal with the hydraulic Power Steering booster also providing braking pressure.
