heater hoses?
got to work this monday mourning with smoke billowing out from the hood. the sweet fragrance of coolant in the september air... i popped the hood to find coolant bubbling on the side of the motor. all day i'm thinking blown gasket. drove it carefully back home. after closer inspection, it appears to be only a leak in one of the pair of hoses going back to the firewall. (yea!) do they sell these at the local parts store, or are they a factory part? sorry if it's an ignorant @$$ question, i do this on a have to basis! thanx oh ancient masters.

There are some auto stores that sell the "pre-bent" hose for heaters. Chances are they don't though. 5/8" Heater hose is the most common size, but if you have a "T" connector on one of the hoses the smaller one is like ~3/8". The stuff is cheap anyway, so I usually have some extra. When I got my truck the previous owner ran a small section of hose between the in and out on the water pump. No heater for me untill I fixed it. The original leak was from the plastic "T" fitting that cracked, which Ford still carried (shocking!).
