Ceramic coated headers
Just picked up a set of shorty headers for my 302 in my 56 F100. The headers appeared to be exactly what I needed. When I mounted the drivers side the collector flange is very close to the engine mount on the straight axle. The passenger side hits the engine mount and the bolts will not line up on the head. I took the engine mount off and cut some of the metal off where it was hitting. It's better, but it's not quite there. We're talking about a 1/8 to 1/4" and it will clear. Is it possible to bend the headers out? Will it ruin the ceramic coating if I apply a torch. The headers are awesome and really make the engine complete. Can I grind some of the collector flange away? Any suggestions here would be great.
