Heater hose clamp..

Heater hose clamp..
Can anyone tell me how to get the clamp off of the heater hose to the t-stat housing. I've never seen one like it. It is shaped kind of like an "A" on top with a screw going right down through the top. If I take the screw out the clamp doesn't seem to losen at all. I feel really stupid, but I don't want to have to cut off the hose and the clamps and have to replace the hose too.
