I know that nobody on this forum would ever be ignorant enough to yell and throw stuff at people who are just doing a job and trying to make a buck, but I've seen it happen more than once. It's really brave to throw stuff as you're driving by but I wonder if these jackasses would ever try something like that with the crew at a machine shop or construction site?

spring-summer a weekend doesn't go by without some high school washing cars, washing dogs, washing this or that to raise money for one or another activity. course with 17 year old girls dressed in shorts and bikini tops you don't have to wonder why so many guys are stopping to get their cars washed

i don't throw things at anyone... i work in construction and sometimes i have to deal with traffic. nobody's thrown anything at me yet but an old woman in a cadillac drove over my foot once. you'd be surprised how many people just ignore you when you wave them to stop just so you can move a truck or something. people think they can do whatever they want behind the wheel

I actually got into an argument with the cheerleading coach from the local high school regarding fund raising car washes. Her girls were out in shorty shorts and belly shirts or bikinis, flaunting themselves on the corners to attract cars to pull in. At the car wash, it was not unlike a wet t-shirt contest. My wife and I both felt it was a bit over the top and that the coach had a responsibility to keep the girls (all minors) under control. Her response was that it's a small town and most all of the patrons were local and knew one or more of the girls. If there was an outfit or behaviour that was out of line, the girls parents would most likely hear about it. She added that it was the girls decision to dress and act the way they were, "they're just having fun". We and a few other people expressed our concerns to the superintendant and the new guideline is that the students are not allowed to wear anything that would not otherwise be allowed during an after school practice session. I know it makes me sound like a prude, but a line has to be drawn and adhered to in order to keep up respectible values.

Totally agree, wey. Just seems like a darn shame that the cheerleaders can't practice topless...

I called the cops on 4 black guys once and they were arrested. They had a big car wash thing. Had a HUGe banner.
Well at the intersection of 2 major highways (HIghway 64 and 65) they ran out at the stoplight, and was stopping traffic to show off the banner. I called the cops as we went by, we turned around, and watched them get arrested because they ran out in front of a cop to show the banner.
As for the girls in bikini's... they had a choice of what to wear... if they are comfortable showing their bodies... let them.
Even if they are minors... If they wear something that doesn't show everything, and their parents aprove of the outfit... It's their life. Not saying I go looking for minor women, but if its hot, and they are doing a car wash... sure let them wear bikinis.

I see a million people with signs all day around D.C. & northern va.
some getting paid for it and some just pan handling
but I almost feel sorrier for the ones being paid to stand there
That is one degrading job and most of the bums are crooks or people that could get off the streets if they just made a little effort
