Hood Locking Option (System)

I have a 1977 F250 and it does not have a hood locking system. I am in Auto Tech in college so I have all the tools and welding equipment I can get my hands on. Anybody got any ideas on how I can Jerry-Rig a good hood locking system? Any info would be awesome. Thanx.

Why not just buy the original system ?

you can get the locking hood latch from ford, it is the same one used on vans through the 80's, and the cable handle,, may be available from our sponsors, if not, try L*C truck.

How you doing? I just became a member yesterday.I have the complete hood locking components from the hood to the interior lock an key.I want the one that you pop the hood from outside.I'll sell it to you pretty cheap.let me know.
