I recently bought a 1979 ford f150. I have tried to buy several parts for it and none of them fit. i looked at the door sticker and it says f140 instead of f150. nobody at the parts stores have ever heard of an f140 so i am wondering if this is some kind of typo or if i have some kind of prototype or if im just ignorant along with my entire town. can somebody tell me what is really going on here?
power steering hi psi hose, brake power booster, master cylinder, brake lines coming from the master cylinder. nothing fits and nothing looks like the pics in the manual.
I dont know about the HP power steering hose, but Ford used two different styles of brake booster and master cylinder on 79 F150 4x4s. On one the booster mounts directly to the firewall, the other mounts to a bracket with an offset lever system. The latter is the most common.
