Slave cylinder line???

HELP! I cant get the line off my concentric slave cylinder on my truck (89 BII 4x2) the white plastic retaining ring that your supposed to push in was hanging on the line. I cant get it back into where I think it's supposed to go. Is there any other way i can get the line out. I searched the posts and some people say they drove out the roll pin but then what am i going to attach to the new one? PLEASE HELP I'm very frustrated and i need to get this done for work on monday.

Does the fitting look almost like the one for a fuel filter? If so, it's a pain. My friend and I did the slave on his f150, and it took the both of us an hour of cursing to get it off. We finally managed with 2 flat head screwdivers pushing into the top of the fitting. The slave has a flange sitting inside that the line side of the fitting locks over, and you have to push the clips out so that it slides out.

Thanks but i got it. I just used two pairs of vise-grips and turned it back and forth. Once i got it to turn all the way around it just popped out. I called a mechanic friend and he said he usually does that or uses the plastic fuel-A/C disconnect tool.

yep. Be careful that you haven't broken the fitting though.
