A local dealer said he could put in a magnaflow system with the 4" down pipe and that normally they would install it but the 05 is different and he would have it done at another local shop. Said the down pipe would have to be cut and re welded to make it fit right. I dont know if I like the sound of that, but it probably doesn't matter. So, it sounds like there isn't one FOR th '05.
Another muffler shop said he would only put in a 3 1/2 down pipe and that he recommends a aluminum system instead of a SS system. He said the SS would loosen up eventually. Does that happen or is he just blowing smoke?

Maybe he does not have the welder for SS. He surely can weld Aluminized steel which would make for a better system than a clamped on SS.
I even had my buddy have his DPPI system welded because the clamps do not work as well as a solid weld.
Heres another question in regards to the Predator. I've only had it since Friday and I should of asked this first, what damage will using the programmer do to my truck?
I can tell I will normally use the 65 mode most of the time and the 40 mode when I tow.
The Predator will do no damage to your truck. What damage is done is up to you when you decide to get on it. Seriously, you can restore your truck back to the original program quickly and easily with the Predator. I have been running in 65 HP mode for several months. It runs great and no problems. I want to take it in to the dealer next week. I will return it to factory original. I haven't heard of any problems caused by the Predator. I would recommend to read the manual and follow instructions. It is quite easy.
I like the Predator and have read the instrucions. I was curious how Ford decides on how they set the truck and what the safe limits really are for it.
I'm not some young kid thats going to be stopping on it all the time ( now and then though ) Just asking questions that I'm sure others wonder also.
Don't worry about asking question....that is what this forum is all about.
Any and all will be answered...and if you really stump us...well just give us a day and we will find out.
The bean counters want to be able to advertise as much hp and lbft
as economically feasible for an engine
but still take into consideration stress levels and
expected warranty claims because of it...
so it's probably got a pretty large "safety margin" IMHO....
Just a thought....if they made them with the HP/lb-ft that the after market programmers make then there wouldnt be room for the after market to make them run better.....then where would we be....it would be like when JD 1st got his X he was as happy as could be with it....I'll bet he couldnt belive the power.....in comes the after market with the programmer....WaLa...instant power....look at all the jobs it has made for the communities around the country....is this a GREAT COUNTRY or WHAT!!!!...Big brother does care!!!.
