ok guys i been coming here for a long time and just read and you guys all seem to be pretty good with the most of your answers.so now i have a ? i need help with.i bought a 93 with the famous E40D ive searched back many pages in this section and havent really found out what i needed actually i have 2 questions hehe first i no longer have overdrive at all and i cant really tell if 3rd is there because the rpms get really crazy after the first to sec shift so im guessing i dont would this be more likely to be burnt up than an eletrical problem?also i read an article on a sight think it was called bronco data anyhow it claims the 5 speed manual swap from this automatic could be done rather easy and not tick the electrical stuff in the truck off as far as the motor goes.has anyone here ever swapped this tranny out to something different?and the rest of the truck survive?im like most not rich people and cant really afford to get in the middle of buying stuff to find out it wont work.thanks and sorry so long of a post

IMO you need to find a tranny shop you can trust. I've read a bunch of these and stuff like you have can be a simple as a clean up, new fluid and an adjustment or as bad as new trans time.

If you don't have money to throw at a project, stay away from a conversion to MT. MT talks to the computer also, and you could end up with something that never runs right.
