I have a 1988 Bronco II fuel injected V6. It keeps stalling so i replaced the tfi module and it still stalls. when it stalls i leave the key on and check the fuel pressure and there isnt any pressure. when i wait 5-10 mins i check the fuel pressure again and it has pressure, then it starts right up. i dont kno what to do please help!!!!
Im guessing here, check the fuel pump shut down safety switch on the inside passenger side firewall, under your carpet by your toes. If it is intermittently opening that might be the cause. You can rule it out with a meter or jumper wire it out for testing it.
Intermittent fault in the inertia switch is certainly one possibility. There could also be an intermittent break in the circuit anywhere else from the EEC-relay to the fuel pump ground. All this assumes that the no pressure is a result of the pump not running, which is more likely. There is also the possibility that the pump is running, but no pressure is being produced because of a bad FPR, gas leak, faulty pickup in the tank, etc.
1st thing I'd do is get a wiring diagram. Then you'll have to go through the fuel pump circuit component by component (remember that wire is a component) until you find the fault. The fact that the fault is intermittent has to be taken into account as well.
