Exhaust studs missing?

Exhaust studs missing?
I was changing my oil on sunday and when I was giving the engine a look over I noticed there were some missing exhaust studs on both sides and there was one broken off. This has been this way for awhile atleast it looks that way. Has anyone ever had this experiance or is this common? It doesn't seem to leak anywhere but I think I should get them replaced....

yup, is the exhaust leaking at all? any noise other than that sweat V10? you do have 20 studs, so if the gaskets arnt blown out, you do have some time to plan an attack. mine blew out and i went with headers. there are alot of threads about this if you do a search. if you do go ahead with the rapair, take the inner fenders out- have a couple of drill bits- a couple of easy outs- and plenty of time. this is nothing to rush, use good gasketsand hardware or you will have to do it again. (eg leaks) good luck.

It has a small leak when you first start it up but it goes away right away and it seems to be coming from the manifold to down pipe. I probally won't mess with the one broken off stud but may just screw in the others.

go easy on the srewing in part i think the others broke off because of the tension created when the manifold expands while hot. i think its just best to leave them alone untill you really have to touch them. helpfull hint if you have to remove the manifolds do yourself a favor and remove the fender wells you wont even have to work over head its alot easier to get to the manifolds from the side of the truck.
