Just wondering what people think are the best ways to make good honest money. I work for a rv manufacturer and make anywhere from 18 to 22 per hour. I work about 43 hours a week on average. Blue collar. Throw me some stories and ideas on being self-employed. GOOD THINKER, QUALITY ORIENTED, EXCELLENT ENGINEERING SKILLS, CAN FIX JUST ABOUT ANYTHING, GOOD ATTITUDE, VERY HARD WORKING, WILLING TO WORK TO MAKE GOOD MONEY. [/c
And throw away my best money making scheme. No way man......I've been working out this money making thing way to long......I finally got it figured out.......aint no way I'm givin up my secret........heres the clue........ Click me, click me
a job with ARod's pay, but the workload of a Maytag repair man. I fancy that would be nice.
in reality, I'm gonna be a Seal when I graduate college, doesn't pay fantastic, but is what I wanna do, and there's all kinds of job oportunity after you get out of the teams
Well, I have always wanted to own my own business, and I'm gonna be a AGI certified gunsmith pretty soon, so yeah, thats a pretty good money maker. I wouldn't care if I never made a dime at it though.
Pick something you really enjoy doing and pursue it. This could be one of your hobbies. Beginning as a part time operation is a great way to test the waters. Chances are, there is a SBA (Small Business Association) in your area that can provide free help in coaching you on your business. Save and invest in order to insulate yourself from life's inevitible ups and downs. Construction, health care retailing, home maintenance, rental real estate, and auto repair are business endevors that buddies of mine pursue as full time and part time money makers. Remember, 50% of businesses fail in the first year due to under funding; plan carefully and be willing to take on calculated risk.
"Everyone has a foolproof plan to get rich that won't work" - Murphy
The idea of owning one's own business is very popular & often associated with automatically being rich. I can tell you firsthand that it isn't necessarily so. I've owned my own for over 20 yrs. now & am nowhere near rich, financially anyway. I do, however, feel rich in that I don't really have a boss except for the customer, who I can fire if they get to be real jerks. I also get to come & go as I please, so I never had to miss any of my kids' ballgames or other events. It made me feel bad for the kids whose parents were never there, busy working & all. Now their parents are still working all the time, trying to make even more $$ to get "ahead", these "grown up" kids seem to lack something in the way of maturity & family values. If I had to do it over, I'd still do it the same because those times with the kids are irreplaceable but I guess you can always go out & make more $$.
Repo man says "If you can't pay for it, don't buy it"....You spend what you make..I retired from education a few months back...wife still works, basically for insurance...But you spend what you make...I did something for 30 years that I did not particularly like, but the retirement made it worth it...I plan on finding some little job before long to keep me busy until the wife can retire...Tried my own business and didn't like it...too much responsiblity and stress involved...Some thrive on this, but not me....Whatever you choose...Make sure you enjoy it....Life is short.....!
Which part of the rv are you building? Plumbing? Finish carpentry? Rough carpentry? Etc?
I worked wiring and installing the dashboard and overhead cabinets for over 7 years, and now I am in charge of getting the high end slide-outs ready to be installed in the units. That includes wiring, plumbing, and cabinetry.
I don't really want to get rich, and frankly I don't want to work that hard. I just want to be reasonably happy, financially, and I want to like what I do. I know it isn't easy to tell someone what they should or shouldn't do. I Just don't want to work for someone else, when I know I could make myself money. Classic, Can anyone also tell me the meaning of LIFE.
