The remaining part of this summer, or 2005? If it's this year it's a no go, I got to get that 390 done and in. Next year, possibly, if you guys want me there. I mean, I haven't got the super duper humungo FE like some of you guys.
OBTW, DD2k does overestimate torque a little, however I think it's not enough to spit at.

Sure your more than welcome, Next Summer, and dont worry about Having a Big engine!! I'am taking my 70 F250 with a Basically stock 390 in it!!
All it has is Carb and headers.... My other engine (might be done) by then but it wont be in the truck...I will still have to send my other C6 out for the roller kit to be installed and some other work....
Oh I picked up last night a Primo Dyno Sim.. Its the Engine Analyzer 3.0
and you talk about getting down to the nitty gritty on builds..Its going to take me about 6mo. to learn how to use all the feature's.....its great...
It even goes as far as telling you HP loss from friction!! Hows that! LOL!!
There is a free engine software program from a proffessor at the University of Stanford. I forget the name of it but you could do a search for it on the stanford website. It is meant to be used in conjuction with Matlab for the graphs. However, I used microsoft excel to plot the HP and Torque curves. The program is very very in depth. But it is fairly easy to use and for certain perameters that are unknown it will plug in average values automatically. It takes just about everything you can imagine into account before calculating. This program is a premium dyno sim and the best part about it is its free. The draw back is its not as user friendly as the others but, I have not had any problems figuring it out it just took some time to learn. If you have any questions just e-mail me.
I just found the web site that you can download it from. http://esp.stanford.edu/ The name of the software is ESP or engine simulation program. John L. Lumley helped W. C. Reynolds engineer the software. You can buy John L. Lumley's book "Engines an Introduction" which tells you how to operate the program. The book goes indepth on internal combustion engines and in the last chapter he explains how to use the software. I highly recommend the book. The downside of the program is that it uses metric units. However, that is easily overcome by a few conversions. The designers have also allowed the users to reprogram or taylor the progams code to there own liking. This gives the program alot of flexibility. You can also download ESPCAM and ESPJAN. ESPCAM is a program that calculates different cam characteristics and then inputs them into the main ESP program to see how well they work. The ESPJAN I believe calculates different fuels and then inputs those parameters into the main ESP program. Hope this helps you out. I have more info available if you need it.
I just had a Friend of mine get me the Drag Race Sim...ya build your motor on the Engine Analyzer Sim... and then run all your results in the Drag Sim..Like HP curve TQ. curve, stall speed, rear gears, tranny specs (ratio's) Vehicle weight, shocks, springs, open rear, locker, spool, welded, frontal air resistance,, and bunch off other stuff, the most comprehinsive Program I have seen for Drag set-up!!
