I've been looking all over the net for this info with no luck. I'm trying to find out the specs of the stock speakers in a single cab 2000 Ranger. I know they are 5x8's all the way around but thats it. Do they not offer information like wattage, frequency max/min on stock paper speakers? The ones i have work great but i want to tune my new radio to them to get the full effect of them without tearing them up. Ya i know upgraded speakers would be better, but i want to use the factory as long as i can.
Those specs aren't even in the Ford Manual. Getting at the speakers is easy enough. Why don't you try pulling off a door panel and taking a look, maybe there is something printed on the speaker itself.
I just replaced the speakers in my '94 Ranger extended cab a couple months ago and they are 5X7 front and rear. The factory front door speakers were cheapos but the rear speakers (above the jump seats) were 'premium' speakers which were still in great shape.
The Ranger door panels are extremely easy to remove. No more nasty one-way clips to worry about. Remove the window crank and two screws and slide the door panel up and off.
Ya i figured you cannot find that sort of information. Ill just stick with using my ear to tune it. Yea that was a type-o, I ment to say 6x8 not 5x8. I think all speakers do not have that kind of information on them at all. Only through paperwork does it show that sort of information. I'm guessing the only thing it will say on the back is the ohms.
Thanks for the help though. And thanks for the welcome to the forum. I was searching for that info and stumbled onto this place. I think i might stay a while. =]
