Question Question about brakes problem

I (actually my wife) just got a 99 4x4 F350 diesel. Every once in a while the front brakes don't seem to release like they should, steering gets more difficult and there is a lot of heat coming from the front brake area. The calipers look new and since both sides are doing the same thing I do not think it is the calipers. We have had it to the shop and they replaced all the rubber hoses (I did not know there were rubber hoses going to the brakes.) but we still have this problem. Any ideas?

It would either be the hoses or the calipers. If it's both sides, it may be as simple as the last guy didn't grease caliper pins properly, or used the wrong grease. Take it apart, clean the pins real good, and then use plenty of white lithium grease on the pins when it goes back together.

The rubber hoses are there to provide flexibility when the suspension moves. Steel lines would break the first time you hit a pothole.

Looks like it was a piston in the master cylinder wasn't releasing all the way. It seems to work fine now.
