Shaking 91 explorer at freeway speeds???
My tires and alignment are good and checked. My shocks were installed in 98 and some of my u-joints are a little loose but nothing too bad. The problem is that when I drive between 65 and 75 mph my car completly shakes. Im looking into changing my u-joints and shocks but im not sure if this is the problem.... My brakes are also in good shape. Does anybody know if im on the right track?

Does it shake constantly, or just when you accelerate or let off? I had a friend with an odd road noise problem. He said that it sounded like "an unbalanced washing machine on spin". Anyhow, it turns out that his front tires were "feathered"? might want to have a tire shop put their eyes on them. A lot of time with u-joints, they vibrate on acceleration or deceleration.

if it is really bad shaking and you have to slow down for it to stop, that is what we in the off-road world call death wobble. it is cause by something in the front end is too loose like a tre or pitman arm. it is usually pretty easy to fix but can be a PITA to track down

If you feel it in the hands (steering wheel), front end steering/suspension problem. If you feel it in the seat of the pants, everything else. If you have any slop in the u-joints, replace the joints before you regret it. Then see if you still have the vibes at speed.
