How ya'll been

Hawdy strangers,

Well its been a while since I've been near my computer with work and crap. So I figured I'd drop by an check on everyone's progress.

Fishy - Hows the hydro assist coming along?
Pro - Found any mud holes? Got the skull painted on the beast?
Ho - Hows the SAS coming along?

And anyone else I forgot off the top of my head sorry about that!

So lets hear how you've all been coming along.

My project has been at a standstill now for a while. I do have a new intake for it, now I just need to decide on a Carb. Got and Edelbrock Performer. What should I run for a carb?

There, now this is a tech question

sup man

hydro assist is coming along very slow as well as all my other projects. i should have my steering part in today so i will be able to drive her again. i am gonna give'r hell this weekend. not to mention i still gotta put in my twinsticked 205 in, i have the parts but haven't got on-board air and on-board welder in yet. i already have all the materials including royal blue paint and one weekend i am gonna muster up the ***** and time to go ahead and spray my big truck. not to mention i am still working on getting my bronco trail ready....i am designing a cage as we speak.

o yea, and i finally got me a tow bicth, 96 F350 4x4 PSD crew cab long bed 5 speed and I am working on doing my stright pipes, propane injection, chip, homemade intake, and a few other gadgets that i have laying in the cab right now.

as you can see i am a hair behind, lol, and i am being kicked out of my garage so the projects will have to stop for a couple of months

good to see you around man, how have you been and what have you been up to?

-cutts-

Fishy,

Sounds like you have a lot of projects to say the least. I've been busy planting winter wheat, cleaning wheat for farmers, and guiding goose hunters. I've only been around my computer about 2 minutes a day to check email and thats about it. Hopefully now I'll have more time in the next few weeks. We are going to be starting soybean harvest real shortly, but all these lil rain showers that keep going thru are messing that up.

I'm waiting for a clear day to load my pickup up on the trailer and take it to the colony and have them sandblast it for me, this should save me a lot of headaches. I have been piling up some new parts for mine as well. I now have a chrome grill for it, intake, electronic ignition, exhaust, etc. In case you haven't heard I am just going to keep it 2wd for the time being, and I am looking for an F350 for my off road rig.

I'm collecting parts like mad for my truck but haven't had enough time or money to put it all together. Let's see . . . for function I got my Dana 70 but I still need disc brakes, gears and lockers. Need to get my 6" rear springs too. Cutout flares arrived yesterday (my 3rd set). I've got a new set of cooling fans and a radiator support. I'm waiting to find a screaming deal on a 4 core radiator so I can install it all. Then it will be time to install my winch bumper.

For bling effect I'm working on a custom dash which I'm sure will take me the rest of my natural life. I rewired my fancy leather seats and got seat brackets. Just need to make a few mods and those should be ready to install. Also got a new grill so I can go to the older split style (73-77). I picked up a high output heater assembly so I can eliminate my factory AC box and still keep the cab warm.

Soooo much to do and so little time (and money!). Good to see you back Ramboss!

Ivan,

Its good to see you got some "bling" ready for the truck

If anyone is need of a brand new set of 4" lift springs (skyjacker) for a '75 F250 let me know and a set of shocks. I may be willing to part with it right now

I'm in need of re-covering of re-doing the seat in my '67 and I was wondering what everyone else has done to their old interiors to make them comfortable.

Those are the narrower leaf springs I think, otherwise I'd take you up on them. I'f got fronts but the rears aren't so easy to find.

My bench seat is going to go out in favor of 6 way power heated leather buckets. I also have TV's in the headrests but I don't think I'm going to keep them. I swear I buy more junk I don't need because of ebay. Other than that I'd soundproofed my entire interior with the exception of the floor. I'll do that when I install my carpet. I've got some bling bling Autometer guages which I really like but they're installed all ghetto right now so I need to get my dash finished up.

Ivan, thats one of my winter projects this year is to get my guages and make a dash for them all. The biggest hold back is the cost of the Autometers. For what I am looking to put in is going to run like $700 to monitor everything. Dam speedo alone is like $250.

So Ivan, when you going to start posting pictures of your dash?

If I can get to my dad's welder to fill in a few things I'll post some pics this weekend. If it all works out according to plan it will be pretty trick. I bought a spare dash from the WSD for $10 so I don't have to hack into mine. This way I can take my time with it. I'm using Lexan to construct it all since it's a little easier to work with than aluminum and just as tough. Plus if someone tries to shoot my I'll have some protection.

Autometer is insanely priced but awesome. I've got about $400 into guages already but haven't got my speedo yet. I'll end up spending somewhere around $1000 by the time I'm done with all my guages. It's crazy but what can you do? The recall tach is awesome. My only regrets is that they make their speedos and tachs for race cars. I want a 5" 120MPH guage. My truck will never even hit that so why do I need 160 or 200? And I'll never wrap my engine anywhere close to 10K but that's the way it is.

Ivan - sounds like your doing your dash the way I'm planning on doing mine. If it would work I'd throw the shackles in for the springs so you could use 'em

I gotta have 3" wide springs for my truck. I think the older F250's are a narrower spring and it won't work with my spring hangars, even if I use a narrower shackle.

Yeah, I've kicked the dash idea around for a while but I wanted something original that had a cockpit look to it (gotta bring the bling!). The big hangup is the dashes on the older Fords are slanted so if you mount a guage in there flat it'll face down and be hard to read. When I started tearing into it I found that if you pull the 2 side bolts from the dash panel you can bring the bottom forward a few inches making the face of the dash point towards your head instead of your crotch. I'm just going to make some brackets so I can secure the dash in this position and I should be good to go without having to angle every single guage.

I never thought of lexan. are you using clear or a colored peice? My plans are to mount my new dash off of my roll bar and make it into 2 peices, a driver side and apssenger side. I need something for a glove compartment since I do not currently have one.

I'm using clear. The original plan was to just paint the backside of it black when all was done so it would look like gloss black glass almost. I'd also thought about sandblasting the back before painting it to give it a textured rough look. Now I'm considering being a friggin ricer and finishing it with a carbon fiber look but I'm not sure about that yet . . . I'll worry about it when I get there. I'm keeping my glovebox too though I may mount my ignition in there since I'll have a center console between my buckets to store all my junk. It'll all make more sense when I can get some pictures posted.

I'm using 3/16" Lexan but only because of the way I've angled things . . . it has to be sturdy. If you're using it on a flat surface I'd say 1/8 to 1/4 would be perfect. The stuff is EXTREMELY strong.

Still waiting on my twitchy artist friend to put on the coupe de grace on my paint. He just bought a house so I got set back. Thought about doing it myself but somehow I don't think a mean looking stick figure would cut the mustard.

Can't wait to see your pics on your dash project Ivan.

Dash, whats a dash? OH wait a minute you mean that piece of 1/8 steel bolted to my roll cage with gauges in it, now what in the world would I need with lexan unless I was replacing my windshield , sounds good though Ivan.
My current plans involve getting all the parts together for the new stroker big block, and getting it in, then figureing out how to convince the wife to let me spend the extra money for the 4 new 38 boggers, atleast I dont' need more lift for the bigger tires just need to sawzall off the front of the front fenders, and plenty of lift.
