Your talking about valve cover gaskets right? If you tell the engine and year of the truck i can be more specific. Before you go through all the trouble of pulling valve covers though it might be worth trying to just turn each bolt another quater turn and see if that helps at all. Just be careful not to warp the valve covers. It could be that one of the bolts just came out and was never replaced or one of the special load spreading washers is gone too. This is assuming its not too big of a leak.
seeing how that i know you have a b2 with a 2.9 im just gonna say i have NEVER, NEVER seen a 2.9 thats valve covers didnt leak a little. mine do and i dont have an answer. its not like a great amount of oil though.
It is fairly easy without A/C, a lot tougher with A/C especially on the pass. side. Go with the rubber Felpro ones. You need to make sure of two things: 1) You have all the special load spreaders for the valve covers. You can still order them new from Ford. 2) You do not over torque them, it requires something like 5 ft pounds.
That being said, they will probably still leak after a while. I never had a 2.9 that did not eventually leak even with new gaskets.
