First of all Hello everyone! I'm a new user and not a Ford owner yet. I would like to order a F350, FWD, CC DRW 6.0D Lariet. My question is if I buy this truck at Van Bortel Ford - Victor, NY and I live in Maryland how do I not pay taxes twice when I register the truck in MD.
WELCOME to the site, please read the Guidelines… Check out the list of forums and make sure you read the headings and Read First: notices in each forum.

You should check with Maryland DMV so you're clear on their rules, but you'll pay no sales tax here in NY. We give you an in-transit permit that gives you 30 days to get the truck home and register it there. The permit is $55, and that's the ONLY fee you pay in NY. MD should be charging you tax as if you bought it brand-new in Maryland. I've already sold about 3 trucks in MD since this program started, and not one of them has indicated that they've had any problem once they got back home. Again, check with MD DMV to be sure about what you have to do once you get back there, but I can assure you that you'll pay NO TAX in New York State.
I was hoping you would see this thread and reply. Thanks.

I'll have to assume a couple things:
1) That you want an automatic, and
2) That you want a Lariat, because you specified the power sliding rear window.
The MSRP is $47675, invoice is $42023, FTE price $41523. If you were looking for something different (like an XLT), please let me know.
Thats correct. but I thought you get the Automatic when you get the Tow Package anyway. would I be ordering that or is one in stock?
A DRW shortbox Lariat Crew Cab? I'm afraid that has "order" written all over it! Figure about 6-8 weeks, maybe longer without the Lariat Luxury Group (which you didn't specify, and Ford recommends if you want to see it before the first of the year). Add $404 to the price I quoted for that.
You mean a deposit? I wouldn't need a deposit to order a truck like this. We just need to figure out how to "shake hands" thru the Internet! Seriously, that's the way we do business: on a handshake. The only time I need a deposit is when someone wants to order a truck that, if I were to get stuck with it, would be extremely difficult to sell in our market area. Like if this truck you want to order were a 2WD.
I'm a MD resident, and I was also looking into this issue. Here's some info from the MVA website:
Title New Vehicles
Purchased in Maryland
A Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin and Dealer Reassignment(s), if applicable, for the vehicle must accompany the Application for Title (form #VR-005).
A separate Certified Bill of Sale (form #VR-181), or the dealer's invoice is required if the Maryland Dealers Certification on the title application is not completed.
Purchased Out-of-State
A Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin(s) and Dealer Reassignments (if applicable) must accompany the Application for Title.
A separate certified Dealers Bill of Sale or invoice is also required.
Maryland Excise Titling Tax
If the vehicle has been recently purchased, the 5% excise tax is based on the greater of the total purchase price verified by a notarized MVA Bill of Sale (form VR-181), signed by both the buyer(s) and the seller(s) in which the actual price paid for the vehicle is stated or $640.00. In other cases, the total purchase price or the valuation shown in a national publication of used car values adopted for use by the Administration will be used to establish the tax. There is an addition or subtraction for high or low mileage. On vehicles seven years old and older, the tax is based on the greater of the purchase price or the minimum book value of $640.00.
Note: As a new resident, to comply with Maryland law and take advantage of a lower excise tax, you must title and register your vehicle within 60 days of moving to Maryland.
For vehicles less than 7 years old:
Vehicle(s) titled in a state with a tax rate equal to or higher than Maryland's 5% tax rate will cost $100.
If the vehicle is registered in a state that imposes no tax, the tax will be assessed at 5% of the value of the vehicle.
Vehicles from a state with a lower tax rate than Maryland's 5% will be taxed at the rate of the difference between the two states. Example: MD 5%, VA 3%, the difference is a 2% tax rate. Minimum tax - $100. When the value of the vehicle is less than $2,000, the 5% rate will apply.
For a vehicle over 7 years old:
Tax is based on the greater of the purchase price or the minimum of $640. The MVA may require you to submit additional documentation to substantiate the purchase price.
For a leased vehicle:
Lease agreement and proof of monthly lease payments (leased vehicles only) – If you have paid or are paying excise tax to another state through your lease payments, the documents may be needed to determine the amount of excise tax credit you may receive.
