Hi I need a starter for my 94 ford aerostar and I am not sure if it is a 4.0 or 3.0 liter. And since I am at work I can't just go look. I know one or the other does not have a silonode (soory if spelt wrong) located on the wheel well. Can anyone tell me so that I can pick up the part before I head home?
Have you ever changed the belts? Do you remember if it had one or two belts? The 3.0L uses two belts, one for the power steering and one for the rest. The 4.0L uses one single belt for everything.
Do you remember where the A/C compressor is located? The 3.0L hides it way down there on the passenger side, and the 4.0L puts it right above the power steering pump.
If you still cannot decide, I suggest picking up both types of starter and return one tomorrow. You still have to return the core to the parts place nayway, right?
Thanks guys, I had someone run me out to the van to have a look and it is a 3.0. Written on the sticker on the inside of the hood and on the plastic covering something inside the engine.
