Talking New Rig

I took delivery of my new 04 Lariat CC 6.0 PSD 4x4, Wedgewood blue over sandstone, got it on Saturday. Got what I think is a pretty good deal on an 04 closeout. This is my first Ford and my first Diesel.

I have to say...I am a bit worried after reading some of the threads about problems.

I also have to tell you if you have the same truck with the 18 inch wheels do not take it into a DFW airport parking garage, just becasue you make it under the pipe does not mean you won't catch the roof...ouch!

Welcome to FTE!

There are a bunch of us on this forum from the DFW area.

I've been in there with mine. I think the foundation may have shifted. I had to back out of one of the garages when the roof squeezed down too low.
I now park on the top only in open air.

If you wouldnt mind sharing how much did you get off of the MSRP total. This would include factory rebates as well as dealer discounts. If you dont want to share thats fine too! I was just curious considerig I just purchased a 04 and got aroun $8,700 off with all rebates and dealer discounts.

Thanks,
Ryan

Wow! Thats great, it sounds like you got a great deal. I wish I could have got that much off. How much of that was factory rebates? I only got the $2,000 factory rebate plus another $1,000 for dealing with Ford Motor Credit.

How did you get it for 31K? I can get the D plan which I hear is basically as good as the A Plan but I am still around $39K. About 7K off of MSRP.

OUCH!!!!! Man I wish I could have gotten a discount like that. I took it at 44,000 minus 1500 rebate.

Some are more "persistent" than others....
the old "studied disinterest" always seems to work for me...
yet I only got 10K off msrp on my X....
(even though MSRP is a ficticious number and we should be talking about how close to invoice we got it for... since invoice has the 3% holdback to work with )

I signed something to defer 3k in rebates back to the dealer, as I recall the rebate was from FMC. They gave me a crud interest rate so I am currently doing a refi with my bank.

Has anyone ever done this? Seems too good to be true, get a rebate for financing with FMC then just go refinance it. I asked and they told me no penalty for early termination or payoff.

Because it's not like you're paying closing cost on a house...
you can refinance as often as you find it financially viable !

Been there, done that before !
