A question for roofers

Which drip edge is better and why; the "J" cross section or the "L" cross section with a 3/8" overhang?

I'm not a roofer by trade, but I have done more than my fair share.
I personally like the L profile as it moves the water away from the facia board as opposed to the j style.
Do a search on drip edge and you will find a host of different profiles from custom suppliers. Lowes and Home Depot usually carry the standars L shape you are refering to.

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if somehow the J section gave the deck any better protection from splashing; on the other hand it could possibly hold water too. Right now, my decking extends about 2 1/2" beyond the fascia.
