97 Explorer Headlight Problem

97 Explorer Headlight Problem
Both headlights do not work, High Beams only work on a flash basis. Lost my owners guide and do not know what fuse location the headlights are in. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. Thanks

Is there a list of fuse functions on the fuse box cover? You could download a manual from http://www.genuineflmservice.com/GB_Request.asp to start.

I had this problem about 3 months ago. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the "Multifunction Switch" (fancy term for turn signal control bar/wiper control/high-beam switch). It's worked fine ever since, and even fixed a slight problem with the intermittent wiper control.

Definitely check the bulbs first. I have a friend who had a '95 had the same problem. We all first thought it was the multifunction lever but turned out to be burnt bulbs. So check them first. If the bulbs are fine, then replace the multifunction lever.
