Well i finnaly got a grill gaurd(perty nice......2 main up 2 across and wrap arounds and lamps for $150 :P ) Well, I was going to mount it after work, figuring that it only took an hour to take off(friend parting out ranger) so I figured about the same time to reinstall. Well problems occured and now Im here to ask about suggestions . The carrage bolts (3 of the 4) are rust severely and i put up a 2 hour fight and i got them all almost back out, but 3 got stuck with about 1 1/2 threads left, so i did the usual of cursing, hitting it with a BFH, cheater bar, heating,PB and they didnt budge. But my brother suggested that I jsut cut the damn things off and buy new ones that way i dont have to fight. I belive they are the stock bolt.
Anyone have any suggestions other than cutting the bolts or would that be the best and/or easiest way. Btw Ill try to get some pics.....dont think my camera is clear enough.
Thx
Tim
I have to agree, cut 'em off. Replacments can be bought at Napa for next to nothing! Treat the threads with a sealant so they can be taken of again at a later time.
