Angry coolant temperature sending unit

I am trying to find the name of a part on my truck. I have an '88 Bronco with 5.8. Next to the distributor is a small peice that screws into the intake. It is about the size of a 3/4 deep socket more or less. It is more of a hexagon shape instead of cylinder shape like a socket. This piece is where the temperature sending unit is located and also it has a small nipple that connects to a rubber hose which brings coolant to the throttle body. If anyone knows what this piece is called, I would appreciate the help. Mine is rusted out and I can't ask for it at the parts store if I don't know the name of it.

Get a hanes manual and check the component location pictures. I know that sounds like an over-simplified answer, but unless it's an "aftermarket" installed piece, I don't know. I'm not familiar enough with new Fords to give a great answer.

If no one chimes in with the name/part number call your local Ford dealer and ask someone in the parts department. With the description you gave, they will be able to tell you the name of it and what the Ford part number is and if he has any in stock. You can use the part number at any chain store for a cross reference for what they have.

I went to Ford and the part is called a hot water tube. It costs about sixty bucks. Thanks for the input.

Unfortunately, Haynes and Chilton's aren't always very reliable. This thread is a good example:
