Well I just got my Four Wheeler magazine and was stunned to see that the 3,322,325,366,756 foot pounds of torque didn't seem to do too much good for the old Suburban. He finished 9th, only 1 up on the old Burb who took 10th. Robin's wife posted in Pirate about their run with White Knight which took 3rd. It's a Chevy but I do like it because it's so butchered and crazy. I may have to get the video for this event. Apparently all but 2 were stopped on the tank trap. The whole side of the mog was destroyed and the 6x6 took a good beating too. 6x6 took 6th (such a coincidence . . . I imagine he could have scored first had he only 1 wheel), the Mog took 4th, I think the Land Cruiser took 5th and all the rest were Jeeparoos of some kind. So that's my nizzewz.
The rock guys at pirate were freaking out that the uber heavy 6x6 took 1st on the mini-rubicon
Yea, that guy with the sub is a tool. At least they mentioned his horse and tq figures are a "guestimate"
Man, 8 out of 10 dnf in the trap. Brutal. Get the vid Ivan. Then we'll get hammered, watch it, and pick apart the rigs and boast how we would have done better. Good, clean fun

Yeah, I thought that was kind of funny. I never thought about if but really with the wheelbase between the front and middle axle he'd be able to crawl over any rocks without getting his frame hung up. As long as he can keep his diffs clear of the rocks there would be nothing to stop him.
I was kind of surprised at that old heap of a Burb. I expected it to to better but alas it's a Chevy. I'll have to check on when the DVD is available. If I can get it in time I'll bring it down next month and we can play arm chair wheeling warriors and tell them how it should be done.
Yee ha! Just make sure I hide the keys to Superbeast first. I can see us all liquered up/jacked up from the ttc vid looking all squidgey eyed at the neighbors house and muttering "uh, yea, that DOES kind of look like a tank trap. Lets see if she'll do 'er". I can see the police report now...
wow! got to finish my mag when wating on my daughter to finish her piano lesson. think i will order the dvd of this one. a while back i had gotten a dvd in the mail of last years competetion and could have bought it and receved other off-road type footage. dont remember what the cost was, but i passed on it. (although i did copy the dvd over to vhs before i returned it.)
Mmm, I love Four Wheeler . . . so smart of them to include lift laws for all 50 states. I think I'll keep a copy in my rig so when I get pulled over by a stater I can show them that we've now decided 72" is a good headlight limit. These guys never have anything even close when they print stuff.
Pro, somehow I think that between the two of us we'd find a way to get Superbeast running without any keys if we were that determined. This is the tragedy of having an old truck with no column lock. I suggest your neighbors leave town that weekend.
It would of been interesting to see how the diseal burban would of done had he a set of rockwells of something else that wouldn't break. I would of thought that the Land crusier would of done better than what it did.
Okay, my mag rolled in so I could finally look at the results. Naturally, I was mostly interested on how the sub with over a 1000hp and 3000tq did 3rd in acceleration and 5th in the two test. 5th in the two test!?!?! (mind you, he had no breakage during these two events). Granted, after his grandiose claims of horse and torque I was already soured on this guy but he should be downright embarrased. I can't think of any participant thats looked like more of a tool at ttc. Too bad lying is apparently part of what it takes to get your truck voted in. At least he finished 9th out of 10 Dude needs a principal beating
I'm still surprised whiteknight didn't take 1st...

I'm seriously thinking that if we put a rig together we could get in there no problem. Think about it, have Ken add a sticky to the top of every page to vote for our FTE truck and you'd have a TON of votes. I think Pirate is a good part of how White Knight got in there. Now building a truck that would actually do something there is another story.
Yeah, that Burb guy is a tool. How can you have that much torque and still get killed in the tow test with a heavy rig???
You know, your right. I hadn't thought of the fte angle. I have the know how to build a serious ttc contender so it will be up to you to rob a bank to fund it We could have it build in one season, easy. I'll bring the mad max factor and you'll bring the bling. We'll take turns driving in the events and win one for Ford glory! You know, I used to fantasize about women instead of trucks...

At least when you dump a lot of money into your truck you don't have to worry about it leaving you for someone else.
I'm going to make it a goal within the next couple years to get a truck together that's competant enough to compete there and then try it. I'm sure FTE would back us with plenty of support to get votes on our truck. And really, it wouldn't be too insanely expensive to build if we didn't bling it out . . . that's going to be the tough part!
