Talking Headache Rack?????

Has anybody got a headache rack on their truck here. i am thinking of making one and want to have some ideas thrown at me. Pictures would be nice if anyone can. i need this as i am the grandson of the owner of a septic installer and repairer. we haul a ton of pipe and such all the time and we don't have small trailers so we use the full racks. but i use my truck both ways, work and personal so i don't want that ugly thing on my truck. i would love some pictures of a headache rack on the truck. Thanks

I have seen a truck with a white "factory original" headache rack around town, if i ever see it again i'll take a picture of it. I have seen one that was make for a later model truck that was adapted to a 78 truck and it has the lights at the top and the whole works. Maby i can find that truck too.

have a look at mine,

the second rack comes out of the razorback rack and clips in the back, I will update my photos with a clearer shot when done.

My brother made a headache rack and liked it so well, he took it off each truck he sold, and put it on the next one he built. It was built onto steel bed rails and painted white. It had heavy duty 3/4 or 1" screening to protect the window. If he still has it I'll take a picture of it and put it in my gallery & let you know. You definitely want steel if you are hauling a bunch of pipe. Adds a tiny bit of weight to the rear end and thats good for traction anyway.

i hope it'll add weight to the back so it can help with traction. i'm getting airbags, and add-a-leaf so it won't sag when i put it to work. i know it's gonna be rougher riding but thats fine. the reason for both is i want the slight lift of the add-a-leaf to level it out and the airbags to level it during hauling towning.
