OK guys, I'm going to start building a headache rack for my truck and am wondering what kind of design would look good on my truck. I would love to have a flatbed with a headache rack and hitch all in one, but I ain't got enough green, and I don't trust my welding skills quite enough to build something like that. Building just the headache rack will be good welding practice. Any ideas? PS, I found out the Ranch hand "Bull nose" bumper looks really good on my truck. Yeah, it ain't real. I so want one of these.
heres mine i got hitch stock going into the stake pockets and 1/4 plate under the tool box its bolted down with 8 bolts 4 per side and on top of that the box weighs a few hundred pounds. it takes a beating and its all hitch stock
That's a good and simple design that would look good on my truck. I'll take notes. I want to incorporate a couple antenna mounts, light mounts ,and eventually an air receptacle to mount my train horn or steam whistle.
my headache rack is freee standing, it has legs that mount through the bed floor. its an angle iron frame with HD expanded metal. i mounted two sealed beam tractor flood lights in the rubber housings inside it at the top, and my ant's on brackets inside each corner
Nice rack. I like all the lights. OK, I've got the general idea in my head and have all the metal I'm going to use in the back of the truck. Now, the next step is to start welding and cutting.
